Textile Discharge Inks

The AquaCharge Binder is a transparent water based screen printing medium to which colourants are added to make coloured discharge inks. When you have mixed the desired colour all you need to do is add the correct amount of activator. When the coloured binder is printed onto dischargeable fabrics they will produce strong bright colours on coloured and black fabrics. The Aqua Discharge Binder can be used without colourant and will discharge the fabric back to neutral (ecru). Pastel colours should be made up with the addition Aqua Discharge White and not with the White Colourant. All Aqua Discharge inks will dry to a matt finish. The Aqua Discharge Activator (sold separately) is the bleaching agent that dissolves the fabric dye without affecting the colour of the ink. You cannot chemically cure this binder and a good tunnel drier is essential to achieve maximum effect. When printing with discharge inks make sure the print environment is well ventilated

Aqua Charge White is a ready mixed, water based ink that when the addition of Aqua Charge Activator (sold separately) will produce a good strong white on coloured and black dischargeable fabrics. The Aqua Charge White can be blended with the Aqua Charge Binder (with added colourants) to produce other colours. The White Colourant can be added to the Aqua Charge White to make a more optically bright white but the user must be aware that this will increase the possibility of the ink drying in the screen and as such would not be recommended for fine detail work. The Aqua Charge Activator is the bleaching agent that removes the fabric dye without affecting the colour of the ink. The activator is sold in containers with the right amount (6%) to activate either 1 or 5 kilos of ink. Once the activator is added to the ink, it will remain usable for 12 hours only, any activated Aqua Charge ink left over must then be thrown away. For best results print within 2 hours of activating. On long runs, mixing fresh pots throughout the day will give brighter results than 1 mix per day. When printing with discharge inks make sure the print environment is well ventilated.
